Payment Methods Accepted

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Paypal for online orders. For in-store purchases, we accept all major credit cards, ApplePay, Google Pay, cash and personal checks.

 

Hold Policy

For online purchases, we will email you when the order is ready to be collected. We will hold it for you for one month. Orders not collected after this time will be returned to our shelves.

You can call the store to pull a book or item and we will hold it for you for up to 3 days. Holds not picked up within 3 days will be cancelled and the book or item will be returned to our shelves.

 

Local Deliveries

Local delivery can be requested during checkout for purchases of $25 and more. The order will be delivered within 48 hours.

  • Concord
  • Martinez
  • Pacheco
  • Alamo
  • Lafayette

 

Prior Sale

Our store operates 7 days/week, so it’s possible a book you order online may have sold before your order is processed. Our database is updated daily, but it’s possible we may have to cancel a purchase if the book or item is sold before your order can be processed.

 

Book Images

The book images shown on this website are often stock photos and not images of the actual book that we have available. We strive to offer only books in good or better condition. If you have any questions about a specific item you can either come to the store or call us for more details.

 

Book Condition

All of the books and other items in our store are donated, pre-owned materials, so all of our inventory has experienced some prior use. We indicate our assessment of the condition of each item in its description on our website. If you are concerned about the condition of a particular book or item, you should contact us before placing an online order.

 

Shipping

We offer shipping within the United States using USPS Media Mail. The Media Mail shipping costs are based on the number of items in your order and will be displayed during checkout and included in your payment. We reserve the right to change the shipping fees if we find the actual cost very different from what you were charged during checkout. We will contact you if that is the case. Once we receive your order we will ship within two business days. We will provide a tracking number by email once shipped.

Media Mail typically takes 2 to 10 business days, it can take longer to Hawaii or Alaska, or during holidays. We ship from California. Please review and ensure that you have entered the correct address. We are not responsible for non-delivery due to errors in the address that you provide.

We do not ship Vinyl due to the high risk of damage.
We do not ship internationally or to US territories.

 

Returns, Exchanges and Refunds

All in-store sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges on in-store sales.

For online orders, if a book or item is damaged in shipment, the customer must contact us within ten (10) days of receipt to claim credit. We are not responsible for loss due to “porch pirates” or similar mail theft.

 

Covid Policy

If you are not fully vaccinated for Covid-19, please wear a mask while shopping in our store.
For the safety of all, we encourage all customers to continue wearing masks while shopping with us.

For those of you uncomfortable with the new guidelines, we encourage you to shop our inventory online. We will continue to offer in-store pickup, and local delivery for orders over $25. We want to thank everyone for supporting our store and the Pleasant Hill Community library.
